How to Brew Farm Fresh Tea

Our farm fresh tea blends marry fruit, herbs, flowers, and roots together for a delightfully unique drinking experience. We grow, source and process all of our ingredients right here in Kentucky.

For those that have not tried tea with the freshest ingredients, you are in for a treat! Here are the suggested brewing temperatures and steeping times to ensure you get the most out of every cup.

  • Herbal Non-caffeinated

    • Herbal teas are best brewed with water at a full boil (200-212 F) This high temperature extracts flavor from the plant material. Herbal teas can also withstand and benefit from longer steeping times around 5-10 minutes.

  • Caffeinated

    • Caffeinated teas require higher temperatures to release more caffeine, but when brewed too hot or too long it can make the tea bitter. We suggest brewing caffeinated tea for 3-5 minutes maximum. Here are the suggested temps for different types of tea:

Black Tea- 200 -212 F

Oolong Tea- 185- 205 F

Green Tea- 160- 180 F

White Tea- 160- 185 F

Matcha- 160-175 F

Or you can also try cold brewing. Steeping in cold water for 4-8 hours extracts caffeine and theanine while leaving tannins.
